Privacy Policy for TuneMate
Last updated: February 24, 2026
TuneMate ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the TuneMate mobile app handles information.
Summary
- TuneMate does not require account creation.
- TuneMate does not sell personal data.
- TuneMate does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting services.
- Audio input is processed on-device for tuning functionality.
- Custom tunings and app settings are stored locally on your device.
Information We Access
Microphone Audio
TuneMate requests microphone access so it can detect pitch and provide tuning feedback.
- Purpose: real-time instrument tuning
- Processing: on-device
- Storage: not stored by TuneMate
- Sharing: not shared by TuneMate
Locally Stored App Data
TuneMate stores the following data locally on your device using app storage:
- app settings (for example theme mode, tuner behavior settings)
- custom tunings you create/import
This data remains on your device unless you remove it in-app, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
Shared Tuning Codes
If you choose to share a tuning code, TuneMate passes that code to Android/iOS sharing interfaces selected by you (for example messaging or email apps). The data then follows the privacy practices of the app/service you share it with.
Permissions
TuneMate currently requests:
RECORD_AUDIO: required to detect musical pitch from microphone inputMODIFY_AUDIO_SETTINGS: used to support audio capture behavior for tuning
Data Sharing
TuneMate does not transmit your personal data to TuneMate-operated servers because TuneMate does not use a backend service.
TuneMate may interact with platform services needed to run app features (for example app distribution infrastructure or OS-level sharing), but TuneMate does not independently sell or broker your personal information.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Microphone audio is processed in memory and is not retained by TuneMate.
- Stored settings and custom tunings remain on-device until deleted.
- You can remove app data by deleting custom tunings in-app, clearing app data, or uninstalling.
Children's Privacy
TuneMate is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
TuneMate relies on device-level and platform-level protections. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to minimize data exposure within the app's design.
International Users
Because TuneMate currently processes and stores app data locally on your device without a TuneMate backend, cross-border data transfer by TuneMate is generally not performed.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at the policy URL with a revised "Last updated" date.
